Valerie Health, the AI-driven front office for independent provider groups, has raised $30 million in a Series A round led by Redpoint Ventures, bringing its total funding to $39 million. The platform combines AI agents with human-in-the-loop oversight to automate administrative tasks such as referrals, faxes, and scheduling, significantly cutting operational costs while enhancing patient engagement and conversion.
“Independent practices are drowning in paperwork and process, and it’s only getting worse as labor costs outpace reimbursement growth,” said co-founder and CEO Pete Shalek. “Valerie exists to help these practices thrive. By acting as an extension of the team—working inside their tools and following their rules—we deliver immediate ROI: faster speed-to-patient, more growth, lower costs, and happier staff.”
Redpoint Ventures partner Meera Clark emphasized the market potential: “Valerie’s AI operations suite gives practices the efficiency of scaled systems without sacrificing autonomy or patient trust. The demand from the largest independent provider groups underscores the company’s unique value.”
Valerie Health has achieved rapid adoption across large independent physician groups spanning cardiology, urology, neurology, ENT, home health, and behavioral health. Revenue has grown more than fivefold in six months, including a threefold increase from existing clients, while the company has expanded with a second office in Chattanooga. Early results show improved patient scheduling, faster referral processing, and measurable staff efficiency gains.
Co-founders Pete Shalek and Nitin Joshi bring deep healthcare and software expertise, having previously scaled operations at Joyable, AbleTo, Uber Health, Stripe, and Bridge. The Series A also saw participation from General Catalyst, Primary VC, BoxGroup, Karman Ventures, .406 Ventures, Waybury Capital, and strategic angel investors from One Medical, Oscar, Main Street Health, and DoorDash.
Editorial Perspective:
Valerie Health exemplifies how AI and human collaboration can transform healthcare operations. The platform’s ability to process unstructured data from faxes, referrals, and messages into actionable insights addresses a critical pain point for independent clinics, which often operate with tight margins and limited tech resources. The combination of AI orchestration and human oversight ensures scalability and reliability, positioning Valerie to lead a rapidly growing market for operational automation in healthcare.
Moreover, the company’s focus on preserving patient trust while enhancing operational efficiency demonstrates a rare balance in AI adoption. By embedding directly into clinic workflows, Valerie Health is not just automating tasks—it is redefining how independent practices interact with patients, staff, and the wider healthcare ecosystem. As independent provider groups continue to seek scalable solutions, Valerie’s innovative model provides a clear blueprint for measurable impact and sustainable growth.
The Series A funding will accelerate platform development, expand embedded operations teams, enhance AI capabilities including voice workflows, and deepen analytics to further empower independent provider groups across the U.S.
