Scott Armul to Lead Vertiv’s Global Tech and Product Strategy as New Chief Product & Technology Officer

Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a leading provider of critical digital infrastructure, has announced that Stephen Liang will retire as Chief Technology Officer on January 1, 2026, after nearly 30 years of service. In his stead, Scott Armul will take on an expanded role as Chief Product and Technology Officer, merging product strategy and technical leadership.

Liang has played a pivotal role in shaping Vertiv’s innovation agenda, having transitioned earlier this year to focus solely on CTO responsibilities. His influence on research, technology vision, and product roadmap will endure in the company’s long-term strategy.

Armul, currently Executive Vice President of Global Portfolio and Business Units (a post he assumed in January 2025), will now manage both the Technology Office and the business units that develop Vertiv’s critical infrastructure solutions—including power, cooling, and IT systems.

“Stephen’s contributions … have been far-reaching … his leadership has been instrumental in positioning Vertiv as a technology innovator.” said Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv.

The realignment demonstrates Vertiv’s focus on tighter integration between product development and business execution, ensuring that technological advances remain closely aligned with evolving customer needs.

Armul joined Vertiv in 2009 and has advanced through roles across engineering, marketing, and strategic planning. His elevation to this role reflects the company’s emphasis on internal talent development.

With Giordano Albertazzi serving as CEO since early 2023, Vertiv is signaling continuity in its executive vision while turning the page on a new chapter in product and tech leadership.
