Markel Group Inc (NYSE: MKL) has named Jennifer Gebran as the new Head of Casualty for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, effective immediately.
In her role, Gebran will lead the development of Markel’s casualty underwriting strategy in MENA, focusing on enhancing underwriting capabilities and driving profitable growth. With over 13 years of extensive experience in underwriting across the Gulf, Middle East, and North Africa, Gebran joins Markel from Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, where she served as Assistant Vice President in Dubai.
Gebran’s career includes 11 years at Liberty Specialty Markets, where she advanced from Underwriting Assistant to Assistant Vice President, spearheading growth initiatives in new markets such as Saudi Arabia and North Africa. She began her underwriting journey at Jardine Lloyd Thompson in 2008.
Based in Dubai, Gebran will report directly to Max Robbie, Senior Executive Officer at Markel. Her appointment underscores Markel’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the MENA region, leveraging Gebran’s deep market knowledge and robust industry connections.
