Eco.mio Secures Seven-Figure Seed Funding to Expand Sustainable Business Travel Solutions Across Europe

Berlin-based B2B startup Eco.mio has raised a substantial seed funding round described as “low seven-figures,” marking a pivotal moment in its mission to revolutionize sustainable business travel practices. The financing round was led by prominent investors including IBB Ventures, Identity.vc, the Hans(wo)men Group, N&V Capital, Partners in Clime, and several individual backers.

Founded in 2021, Eco.mio specializes in empowering companies to achieve their climate goals while optimizing travel costs. The startup intends to utilize the funding to expand its footprint beyond Germany and introduce new product offerings tailored to hotels, rental cars, and solutions addressing CO2 taxation and budget management.

Central to Eco.mio’s approach is an innovative solution that seamlessly integrates with existing booking systems, encouraging employees to select greener travel options. Strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as Cytric by Amadeus, SAP Concur, and BCD’s consultancy Advito underscore Eco.mio’s commitment to enhancing corporate sustainability efforts.

“Our platform has already demonstrated significant impact, with corporate clients reducing their CO2 emissions by an impressive 26%,” highlighted Katharina Riederer, Co-founder and CEO of Eco.mio. “This funding round enables us to scale our solutions and solidify our position as a leader in sustainable business travel solutions across Europe.”

The investment comes at a critical juncture as Eco.mio aims to embed sustainability as a fundamental component of every business trip. “With the support of our investors, we are poised to accelerate our vision,” Riederer emphasized, “making sustainable travel practices accessible and effective for businesses of all sizes.”

Til Klein, Co-founder of Identity.vc, emphasized the strategic value of Eco.mio’s technology integration capabilities. “The ability to seamlessly integrate into the operational frameworks of our business customers adds significant value,” Klein noted. “This capability was pivotal in our decision to invest in Eco.mio, recognizing its potential to drive meaningful change in corporate travel behaviors.”

Looking forward, Eco.mio plans to enhance its product portfolio and expand its team to further innovate within the sustainable travel sector. By empowering businesses with actionable tools and insights, Eco.mio remains dedicated to shaping a future where sustainability and efficiency go hand in hand. Source: phocuswire
